Plants aren’t singing in the way birds do, and they don’t produce audible music on their own.
Instead, every plant is constantly generating tiny electrical signals as it responds to light, water, touch, temperature, and countless changes in its environment. These subtle electrical fluctuations are part of the plant’s natural biological activity.
Using sensors placed gently on a leaf, I capture these electrical signals in real time. The device then translates changes in the plant’s electrical activity into data.
I work with a sound designer to help pair that data with carefully chosen instruments and soundscapes, allowing each plant’s unique patterns to become music you can hear.
Think of it as a living collaboration between nature and technology—a way of revealing something that has always been there, just beyond the limits of our senses.
My hope is that these sounds inspire a sense of wonder, reminding us that the world around us is far more alive, dynamic, and interconnected than we often realize.
